Diop was first introduced to modeling at a tender age of 15. It was after she moved to Paris, France that photographers started to approach and encourage her to step into the world of modeling. As she later said to NPR, “I was scared because I didn’t know what I was getting into. But almost everybody was telling me, why not? So I did it because I wanted to inspire girls. When I was younger I didn’t have any inspiration to like the skin I was in.”
