The Beginning
So where did this weird sound start off in the first place? Well, the strange bursts were first reported to have happened back on January 3, 2017. And where was it initially recorded? These sounds first came into attention in Connecticut. And ever since this incident took place, there have been several places that have reported the same mysterious noises waking the locals too.
Scientists Confused Too
And since these noises are unlike anything anyone had ever heard, it even left experts very puzzled. And there have also been reports that the sounds confused most scientists and meteorologists too. This was because they could not easily find a reason or the cause for them. Could it have happened due to a meteor shower? What was to blame?
The Meteor Shower Theory
The mysterious sounds have caught the attention of so many people. And among the experts who have decided to crack the reason for it was CBS meteorologist, Chris Spears. He had quite the logical explanation for the haunting sounds. He proposed a theory which involved a Leonid meteor shower that must have had a part in creating the loud sounds.
His Explanation
His explanation was one of the more sensible ones that did not seem to far fetched. In his theory, he claims that the meteor shower happened when Earth passes through the debris trail of the Temple-Tuttle comet. But where had been the actual cause of the sounds? Could there be a possibility that as the debris entered the Earth’s atmosphere, the boom-like sounds happened?
Discredited Theory
There was yet another theory that most could agree with. After spending some time doing extensive research and collaborating with astronomy expert, Ron Hranac, it had been finally proved that these Leonid meteors would not have been able to make the loud sounds due to the fact that most of them were just the size of a pea. Very tiny in fact…
No Clarity Still
And also, since a majority of this debris burned up in the Earth’s atmosphere, there would not have been any left to be able to have such a big impact on the whole of the earth. All these theories had now been discredited and once again, there was not a single explanation for the weird bursts. What could have caused the residents of Denver, Colorado to wake up in fear that night then?
