Bad News
Pam was agitated and her questions were still unanswered. She was unable to figure out what it took for her daughter to leave her all alone. It was impossible to settle down with the fact that she chose to runaway willingly, but Pam had no other choice. All she could do is to pray for her to be safe and sound.
Sinking In
Pam started to adjust to the fact that she might never get to see Emily again. She was exhausted of all the resultless searching. The more she thought of it, the more she lost herself into grief. She couldn’t handle the fact that her upbringing would prove so wrong.
A Tough Journey
Pam was hopeless but somewhere deep in her heart, a mother never stopped waiting for her little girl. Anytime anyone knocked on the door, a voice inside her said, it was Emily. It’s like she started to live in the memories of the days when Emily was with her.
Cold Comfort
Pam survived the shock and made her way through the hellish nights and headed to work every morning. In her daughter’s absence, the mother started to give most of her time to work. She worked overtime and she worked on weekends just to keep her away from the negative thoughts. The cops too kept on checking on the miserable mother from time to time even when they themselves lost all the hopes of listening from the girl.
Mixed Emotions
Despite the fact she was trying hard to keep herself occupied, Pam still used to sit and think about how Emily must be doing. In a cruel world, how her daughter must be surviving all by herself. She couldn’t help but blame herself for whatever happened that night.
A Mystery Letter
During one spring day of 2018, Pam was going through the mailbox and as she was checking all the bills and pending payments, she found a letter that made her heart skip a beat. The letter didn’t have any return address on it, and it was addressed to Pam. As she went inside and started to read it, she found herself on her knees by the time she was done reading it. The letter stated that it was Emily who wrote it but did she? Pam immediately called the cops.
