Instant Fear
The cold breeze touched her skin and flirted with her hair. A sense of hesitation filled inside her head. After all, she was just sure of the first half of the plan and not the final destination. She was scared to death with the idea that something bad will happen to her and yet chose to take her steps ahead and out of the front porch.
Walking Away
As Emily walked down the street, she called some of her good friends to know how they were doing. As expected, she didn’t give them any clue of what she was up to. After talking to them for around 20 minutes, Emily walked farther away to head out of the city as soon as possible. Without looking back she just kept walking away.
A Long Walk
Emily kept walking down the road without looking up. She had many friends around the city and she didn’t want anyone to see her go. If anyone of her friends will see her with a backpack, they’ll certainly ask what she was up to and might inform her mom in the worst case scenario. She kept her head low whenever a car passed by her.
Back Home
It was a usual tiring day at work, and when Pam entered the house and the only thing that wasn’t ordinary was the utter silence around the house. Unlike other days, when Emily keeps the TV or the radio on at high volume, there was a pin drop silence in the house. It didn’t affect her mother much, it could be that she was using headphones or was out to her friend’s place.
A Long Day
Pam removed her heels and went to take a bath. Later she went to Emily’s room to tell she’ll be ordering pizza for her and having milk and cereal herself as she is not in a state to cook. Emily always enjoyed impromptu dinners but she wasn’t in her room. Pam ordered the pizza anyway and left it on the couch for Emily while she went to sleep.
What’s This?
The next morning when Pam woke up to find the pizza still kept untouched on the couch. Emily wasn’t in her room and there was a note on the kitchen slab. The note had Emily’s writing and it was addressed to Pam. She started to read the note and by the time she was done reading it, there were tears in her eyes, and she collapsed.
