A Mild Cold
The doctors informed the couple that there was nothing to worry about and the baby had a mild cold because of which was having a hard time falling asleep. Doctors were certain that she will be able to sleep properly from then on.
Feeling Better
Doctors were right as Stacey was doing perfectly fine a couple of days after her last visit to the hospital. As the baby was smiling looking at her mother, Bernita thought the danger was gone. But the biggest test was yet to take place.
Meowing
As Bernita started to feel that Stacey was completely fine, Midnight started to act strangely around the kid. Unlike before, he used to meow relentlessly. He used to climb curtains and stare at the little girl from the top.
Ignored Her
Bernita tried to keep him away from the baby but that didn’t work. At first, she was concerned for Stacey but Roy assured her that the cat will never cause their daughter any harm. She then ignored the cat thinking he was trying to get her attention but was that it?
Relaxed Mother
Bernita was thankful that her daughter’s condition was better and started to sleep in her own room again. Although she always made sure to keep the baby monitor on she started to feel less worried about Stacey but that night was just a step away from turning her nightmares into reality.
Attention Seeker
“He came and he jumped in my lap, and he jumped down, then he jumped back in my lap. He was pretty persistent. He obviously wanted me to do something, but I really wasn’t interested,” remembered Bernita of the night when Midnight was behaving like anything but normal. What happened next took everyone’s breath away.
