The records state that Villa Epecuen had nearly 280 thriving businesses before the flood destroyed everything. The city was also home to 5,000 people more or less, but more people moved in during the summer season when tourists would pop up and made this place ideal for thriving businesses that served them and relied heavily on tourism.
