Wave Hitting Hard

In 1989, Jean Guichard clicked this incredible image of a lighthouse nearly covered by a giant wave. The lighthouse located on the northwestern coast of France is named as Phares dans la Tempete, la Jument, the term itself means “lighthouse in a storm.” Surprisingly, the photograph also shows Theodore Malgorne, the lighthouse keeper checking out the giant wave as we check out the weather. However, the true story behind it is that Theodore was actually waiting to be rescued along with a group of his friends who were inside the lighthouse.

Here’s a good to know information: The people in the lighthouse survived the powerful waves and the structure itself is still standing straight in the middle of the ocean.
